Edible Obsession: Ombré Pink Heart Sugar Cookies

We are less than one week away from Valentine’s Day, one of my favourite days of the year! Technically, any holiday that comes with chocolates and candies will instantly win over my heart. Apart from that, I really do love the idea of Valentine’s Day – everything from the colour scheme and décor to getting to celebrate the special day with someone you love! Although, trying to top the previous year and come up with the perfect gift each year can be super challenging! If you’re still in need of some inspiration, I came up with Valentine’s Day Gift Guides For Him & Her to help out others who struggle with brainstorming!

As difficult as gift shopping can be, the effort is always worth it in the end. I love seeing the reactions of friends and family when I surprise them with something special! This year, I knew I wanted to add more of a personal touch to my gifts, and what better way to do that than to make something myself! Inspired by all of the heart shaped chocolates and candies being passed around this month, I finally settled on baking some sweet heart shaped sugar cookies!

A huge misconception about sugar cookies are that they require a lot of time and effort to make – but this isn’t necessarily true! I have a quick and easy recipe that doesn’t require chilling the dough, yet still makes the best and most scrumptious cookies!

Whether it’s for that special someone, a close friend, or even a family member, these cookies are sure to win over some hearts! They have a perfectly smooth surface and taste amazing both with and without icing! Check out the recipe down below!

Are you looking forward to Valentine’s Day this year!? Let me know in the comments! If you decide to try this recipe out, be sure to snap a photo and tag it #chicmacherie! I’d love to see how they turn out!
